Fat burning foods are today’s greatest concern, as fats have become a matter of life and death. Often overweight and obese people are confused about choosing a right diet which will reduce their fats, as they read and listen to the number of calories in various foods. But they really need not worry so much, because if they consider some basic things, it is not at all difficult to select the right diet.

Surely we all know that when amount of physical activity is less than the amount of food we eat, we accumulate fat. And if this food has hoards of fats and carbohydrates, it takes no time for us to become fat. The underlying reason for this is fats and carbohydrates when not in use are stored in form of adipose or fat tissue, which look like tyres placed on our belly, buttocks, thighs etc.. So what will we have to eat? It is so simple; what we have to do is just remove the fat accumulating foods from our diet and eat the fat burning foods!

Foods rich in fibers, like fruits, green and other colorful vegetables, whole grain breads, cereals and beans are all fiber-rich foods, that burn fats. An important study has been recently proven a method of fast fat burning with fiber-rich diet. It is evident from this study that breakfast of fiber-rich foods doubles the rate and amount of fat burning during a work-out for an hour done after 3 hours, than that done after a breakfast with foods devoid of fibers. You need not be afraid of eating things like whole wheat pasta, bread, brown rice, porridge, barley etc. in your breakfast and meals as all these are rich in fibers and excellent fat-reducers. So also are citrus fruits like grapefruit, vegetables like lettuce, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, Broccoli, spinach etc., other fruits like kiwi, apples, melons, figs etc and beans of any kind; so enjoy them as much as you want and feel satiated instead of feeling starved. Include a bit less than a handful of nuts also in your foods, as they, in addition to being fiber-rich, are healthy for your brain and heart. Eat all these preferably fresh; if canned fruits are to be eaten, prefer water or juice-packed and not syrup-packed.

If you are to cut fats and carbohydrates, you will obviously have to turn to proteins. 90% lean beef, skinless chicken, fish, beans, soy, skim-milk, tofu and yogurt are all sources of low-fat proteins. Fish oil is known to reduce cholesterol.

Some delicious spices form fat burning foods; so you can include them in your meal and make your food, tasty as well as healthy. Onion, garlic and red chillies are those spices. The former two are known cholesterol-reducers. Capsaicin in red chillies increases metabolism and burns fats.

You can also include some more foods, that are burn fat in reality, but are hardly known to do so. Coffee is proven to burn calories because of the caffeine it contains. But you should remember to have coffee in moderate amount, i.e. not more than 2 cups daily.

And here is an exciting news for chocolate-lovers – chocolate burns fat! However remember that only the real dark chocolate, which is not having any fat, sugar or milk in it, comes under this category. A placebo-controlled, randomized, blind study shows that Flavanol in such a chocolate is a very potent natural antioxidant and also this chocolate has lots of heart-protecting factors like Magnesium, Calcium, and Vitamin B, C and E. No wonder, that this type of chocolate improves heart’s health, by burning fats, lowering blood pressure and improving flow of blood.
